Application to decision took around 2 months.
Phone screen- Scheduled 3 weeks after application was submitted. Was not actually a phone screen, but a computer video call with HR and the hiring manager with videos turned off. Lasted around an hour and a half that included position background and basic interview questions.
Interview- Scheduled 1 week after phone screen and lasted almost 2 hours. Was with the manager and a member of the team over zoom. About 10 STAR questions relating to team experience and leadership were asked. Said a decision would be made within a week.
Background check- Started 1 week after interview. No decision was made, but a background check disclosure was requested instead. This took over 1 week. HR responses are automated, incoherent, or non existent. I am not sure if HR received Thank you letters, references, etc because of the lack of communication.
Decision- 2 weeks after the completion of a clear background check. Received an automated denial immediately after reaching out after a unreasonable amount of waiting time. I doubt I would have heard a decision without reaching out.
Overall a terrible experience. The team members seemed great, but HR was very frustrating to deal with because of the lack of transparency. To string along candidates for a month after multiple rounds of interviews and background check, to give them a decision only after they repeatedly inquire about a process they have already committed so much time and energy to is bad practice.

The process was pretty average. There were no questions that were off the wall or unexpected. Stick to STAR framework pretty well. Make sure you have good examples and can show your results.
