Best Approach - Gather your team, find out what they are working on and deadlines that need to be met. Find out what is in use now to meet deadlines. Decide if team has been headed in the right way. Discuss plans moving forward with my upper management. Then create a clear direction (if not already in place) Encourage and support team efforts to increase morale and gain their confidence as you can never just run into a upper management position and think you know it all, start yelling and harassing employees, as this totally ruins moral. So the point would be to get the team on your side and meet deadlines expected or even surpass them. This could all be accomplished within the first 30 days, the rest of the 60 days would be putting plans into place with employees that are extatic to work with you.
