I'm a white first generation college student from a low income background so I mentioned that and how stressful the college application and transition process was for myself and how I feel I can offer advice and guidance to current hs students feeling the same, but also showed that I was aware of the additional educational barriers plaguing hispanic and black students who are often also first gen/lower income in LA high schools and that education is a root of society and diversity starts there etc.
