Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 4 meses. Fui entrevistado pela Wise (Singapura) em mar. de 2025

While it may seem like they hire the best candidates, based on the ordeal that I've been through, Wise's hiring practice is the worst; hires are not based according to their experience, merit, or interview performance, but rather how they fit in with the company's woke culture or specific "profile".
In my view, the company is full of people who are incompetent and are afraid of being accountable for their work. What's worse is that they praise you for doing a stellar work in your assignment, steal the ideas that you've presented in their publishing (yes, it's that bad), and not hire you. This is the first time where I pass the take home assignment with flying colours and do well in the interview and still not get hired. Later on, I found out that they went with a candidate who was much younger and inexperienced. Not only that, they also published articles based on my work, which all but confirmed that I was exploited. An absolutely embarrassment of a company.

What motivates you?
Who do you want to join us?
And the typical questions from HR (they don't even know the technical requirements of the role)
The interview process began with an HR call covering the role details and some basic technical questions. I was asked about my experience with WordPress, proofreading, and the SEO tools I use.

I applied to Wise twice; once in 2024 and another in 2025. The experience in 2024 wasn’t the best, given that a) I was tasked an intensive take-home assignment, b) had two gruelling interviews, and c) was rejected after a 2-month-long process.
The 2025 experience was arguably worse, with an assignment given at the very start of the application. I duly completed it and was informed I had to redo the first part as I had allegedly worked on the same topic in 2024 (I didn’t). I pushed back and provided evidence that my previous assignment had no correlation to the current one. Consequently, the recruiter became very unresponsive, taking close to one month to complete the review and reject the entire application. The recruiter provided a series of excuses when I checked in repeatedly, such as going on military leave, being occupied with team training and a week-long event.
As much as I’m drawn to Wise as a potential employer, these two experiences have honestly left a bad taste on my tongue. I don’t recommend any self-respecting job candidate to burn their time going through the company’s unnecessarily lengthy job application process that is coupled with subpar communication.
