Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 4 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela Zotec Partners em jan. de 2025
Entrevista
The interview process was really nice! I applied for the position back in November 2024 and was invited to take a coding assessment in December 2024. Once I did that, it took them 2 weeks to get back to me. We scheduled an interview in mid-January and I received an offer 5 days later.
I had 2 interviews back-to-back, one with Cindy Bickel and Christina Lewandowski (Manager of Product Culture and Manager of Product Operations, respectively), and another with Jeremiah Smith, the Director of Software Engineering. They were all great interviewers and really made me feel at home.
Cindy and Christina took around 20 minutes with me, mainly asking about my resume and behavioral questions. I spent another 20 minutes with Jeremiah afterwards, where he asked more technical questions to gauge my experience (no actual coding questions though!).
Overall, it was a great experience and I can't wait to join Zotec this summer!
The interview process typically unfolds in several stages, commencing with the submission of an application or resume. Following this, there is an initial screening conducted by HR or a recruiter to assess basic qualifications. Successful candidates proceed to a phone interview, providing an opportunity for a more in-depth discussion about their background and skills. Subsequently, a first interview occurs with a hiring manager or team member, aiming to evaluate both professional expertise and cultural fit within the organization. Depending on the role, candidates might face assessments or tests to gauge specific skills. A second or final interview, involving higher-level managers, follows to delve even deeper into the candidate's capabilities and potential contribution to the team. Reference checks are conducted to validate the candidate's professional history, and if all aligns positively, a job offer is extended. Negotiation may occur before finalizing the terms, leading to the onboarding phase, where the successful candidate is prepared for their new role within the company.
I had a disappointing experience with Zotec Partners. The first thing they did was send me an assessment through Woven without any prior communication. This was a red flag as it showed a lack of professionalism and consideration for the applicants. Additionally, this lack of communication indicated that they didn’t even check if I was a good fit for the role before sending me the assessment.
I completed the assessment and received only positive feedback from Woven, indicating there was no need for improvement. A perfect score, by all means. However, despite this, I was still rejected by Zotec Partners. I was disappointed that I never had the chance to speak to anyone from the company, as they never reached out to me during the entire process, except for the automated rejection email they sent.
Overall, I have serious doubts as to whether Zotec Partners is actually looking to hire a software engineer or if they’re even a real company. Their lack of communication and professionalism was extremely disappointing and left me with a negative impression. I would not recommend applying to this company if you value your time or sanity.

Woven’s assessment involved an exercise in fixing a bug in Python and emailing a fictitious team member about the fix and how to implement it, and a fictitious customer service rep and how to resolve the issue for the customer.
It also involved an exercise in implementing a password change alert, for customers whose passwords were revealed in a breach.
The final question was an AWS question, about the steps required to setup authentication.
