I was referred to evestment through a staffing agency, that had me do a c# skills test. They setup a call for me with the evestment recruiter. We had a great conversation, the call was primarily to see if there might be a culture match and that the commute is reasonable. She let me know that even though i was submitted for a development role, she wanted me to first meet with the testing manager to see if their test automation position would be a good fit. I met with the testing manager the next day and had a great conversation with him as well, we discussed my experience and i was able to answer all his questions. He asked me to come in for an in person interview that i would need to schedule with their recruiter. I called her immediately as she had requested the day before, and i left her a voice mail. I never got a call back. I along with multiple people from the staffing agency spent the next two weeks trying to reach her via email and phone with no reply. I finally decided to message her via LinkedIn and was told that they weren't moving forward with me. I asked what had changed since i was asked to come for an in person interview and was told that nothing changed, they just wanted someone with more in-depth experience. Needless to say, i wish they had let me come in and do the panel interview and live SoapUI test, which i was told was the next step.
