Empowr's VP reached out and mentioned I had a good background for an open Software Engineer position. We had a brief phone interview discussing the company and my background. I was asked to come in the following week for an in-person interview with the lead engineer and DBA. I was also asked to complete a take-home coding exercise before the onsite, but was only given a 1 day heads up... After the onsite interview, I was asked to come in a few days later to speak with the Founder who gave a history and vision for the company. He also gave me a book he wrote. Overall the process was pretty standard, but I got the feeling that the company, despite being around for many years, was not doing so well. The platform itself did not seem legitimate.
