Receptionist – Mixed Small & Large Animal Practice

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and organised Receptionist to join our team at Aeron Vets.
Our reception team are a vital part of Aeron Vets. They are often the first point of contact for our clients and play an essential role in ensuring that both our clients and patients receive the personal, compassionate service that we pride ourselves on. Aeron Vets is a growing mixed practice with an expanding client base, located in the beautiful Ciliau Aeron. As a practice at the heart of the local community, we are passionate about building strong relationships with our clients and providing excellent care for their animals.
About the Role
· Full-time (40 hours per week) or 4 days per week considered
· Working as part of our busy and supportive reception team
· Delivering excellent customer service to clients
· Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
Key Responsibilities
· Welcoming clients and patients to the practice in a professional and friendly manner
· Answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries efficiently and compassionately
· Booking and managing appointments for both small and large animal services
· Registering new clients and maintaining accurate patient records
· Processing payments, invoices, and insurance-related paperwork
· Handling prescription requests in line with practice protocols
· Liaising with veterinary surgeons, nurses, and other team members to ensure excellent client care
· Assisting clients with routine healthcare enquiries and directing clinical questions appropriately
· Managing email correspondence and administrative tasks
· Supporting the organisation and cleanliness of the reception and waiting areas
· Assisting with stock ordering and general practice administration when required
· Helping to coordinate farm visits and large animal call-outs
· Providing a calm and supportive service to clients during emergency and sensitive situations
· What We're Looking For
· Excellent communication and organisational skills
· A warm, professional, and caring approach to client service
· Previous reception experience preferred
· Veterinary industry experience and knowledge would be highly advantageous
· Welsh-speaking skills are desirable but not essential
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy practice environment
· Confident using computer systems and learning practice management software
