Running to the post office and the bank? Buy some insurance while you're out. CNP Assurances is France's top personal life insurer. In addition to life insurance and other savings products, it sells health, death and disability, and other personal risk coverage and pensions. CNP sells its products primarily through the outlets of La Poste, the French postal service, and Groupe BPCE, the state savings banks; together these two channels account for about 65% of CNP's sales. These partners are also shareholders in the company, together owning about 35%. Another French paragovernmental organization, Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, owns 40%.
