Innolume helps produce semiconductors with nanoscale features. The company supplies semiconductor makers with customized epitaxial wafers. These wafers are produced through the process of epitaxy, which gives them special types of chemical crystals; this, in turn, gives special properties to the microchips made from the wafers. Devices made from Innolume's wafers include vertical cavity surface-emitting lasers, superluminescent light-emitting diodes, quantum dot lasers, and other optoelectronic components. The company's investors include PolyTechnos and PEPPERMINT.Financial Partners. In 2006 Innolume acquired a rival, Zia Laser of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The company has facilities in Germany and the US.
