We aid the transition from animal-based to in-vitro human-based pyrogen testing to increase patient safety and save animal lives. To achieve this, we’ve been developing the Monocyte Activation Test (MAT) since 2016.
Since 2016, we've been at the forefront of pushing for the MAT as the standard for pyrogen testing. We are aligned with the European Pharmacopoeia's vision to replace rabbit-based tests with MAT by 2026, safeguarding patient safety and animal welfare simultaneously.

We have developed an improved Monocyte Activation Test (MAT) for pyrogen testing. The MAT serves as the replacement for the Rabbit Pyrogen Test and can be used to test parenteral drugs for endotoxin and non-endotoxin contaminations. Our technology uses cryopreserved pooled PBMC. This has made it possible to develop a MAT with both high sensitivity and robustness, ensuring reliability in the field.

MAT uses human blood cells to test for a fever reaction, mimicking the human immune reaction.The MAT serves as the replacement for the Rabbit Pyrogen Test and can be used to test parenteral drugs for endotoxin and non-endotoxin contaminations. Our technology uses cryopreserved pooled PBMC. This has made it possible to develop a MAT with both high sensitivity and robustness, ensuring reliability in the field. The MAT kit includes all the required consumables to perform the Monocyte Activation Test, making it convenient to perform.
