Prós

Two years on, the standout is the quality of the people. The rigorous hiring process means you’re consistently working alongside high-calibre colleagues, and that standard becomes your benchmark. The training and values instilled are genuinely transferable — they’ve held up across subsequent roles and have been recognised by international companies I’ve worked with since. It sets a bar that’s hard to find elsewhere.

Contras

During my time there, retrenchments created noticeable instability, which was ultimately a key factor in my decision to leave. Limited progression opportunities within the role was also a challenge, and from what I can tell, that hasn’t changed significantly — though I can only speak to my experience at the time.

Prós

OfferZen is an environment where one fluorishes when they own their own growth. The company is filled to the brim with highly intelligent humans who truly want the best for you, our customers and the company as a whole. It is absolutely wonderful to work with humble people who are as passionate about the work we do as I am. You don't come across this level of 'care' very often. The culture is also fantastic. We operate on the premise of always 'assuming best intent' which has not only influenced the way I think about things at work, but also in my personal life. Working remotely is also fantastic - I am given the freedom to work autonomously and am trusted to do my best work. I have never experienced any form of micromanagement. Another thing that really stands out is the level of transparency from leadership. Nothing is ever a secret. If you have questions about absolutely anything - whether it be the financials, context behind decision-making, or literally anything, you can always set up a time to chat with anyone in leadership (including our CEO, Matt)

Contras

Because OfferZen is still scaling up, we sometimes make mistakes. While the environment makes it very okay for one to make mistakes, there are at times slight concerns around stability. That said though, this is something one would experience in any startup/scale up environment.
