Over the years I’ve been given chances to move from development into DevOps leadership and later into an Engineering Lead position. - Supportive line management, especially when it comes to discussing development needs, training, or considering alternative career paths when a role isn’t the right fit. - Access to structured learning, such as the Level 7 Leadership Apprenticeship, which has been valuable. - Interesting technical challenges across cloud, DevOps, and software engineering, there’s rarely a dull moment if you like varied work.

- Some roles can be extremely demanding and not always well-aligned to individual strengths. My recent experience as an Engineering Lead has been particularly challenging, but it has highlighted internal support and coaching. - High expectations and change can be difficult to manage, especially during reorganisations or strategic shifts.
