Prós
Portugal em Direto and Jornal da Tarde have good people coordinating. Telejornal and RTP3 are a huge mess. Bom Dia Portugal is overall ok and people are nice. You get to work with some great professionals, from journalists to camera men, and video editors. you get to enjoy the first year, and that is as long as you should stay. Porto has a nice vibe though.
Contras
The work environment is quite toxic: there’s no strategy and everyone lacks of ideas to do different things, or same thing with different approach. You just do what every other tv channel is doing or what you did last year. There’s no respect for personal life, specifically for those who are younger. The good opportunities always go to the same people. Pay range is too low and doesn’t cover availability. You basically end up working double shifts and get paid for just one.
