I was paid fairly and enjoyed 6 years of employment. I'm grateful for the early years at the company, when they took a chance on me and let me prove myself as an employee. Many of the people I met at Rally will be lifelong friends. The values early on were inspiring and there was an energy to the office that got everyone excited. That's gone now.
Contras
Since going public, the company has hired rapidly while having a lot of turnover. Their motivations are now quarterly financial goals, which has certainly compromised their core values. There is little special about Rally at this point, though it is not particularly bad either... just a typical B2B corporation. Lots of office drama and gossip. That said, the marketing department was a disaster when I left. The managers I reported to in the last year were completely uninterested in my (or my peers') growth and success. They are dishonest to their direct reports in ways that undermine their success. Everyone worries they may be let go without any notice. Everyone I worked with was in a constant state of stress. Not fun. There is very little left of the company I loved.
