Rows has an awesome culture, with focus on autonomy, collaboration and work/life balance. The product is quite complex and it's constantly evolving, the entire team has a saying on the future of the project as well as the freedom to improve the codebase. There's little to no burocracy on decision making and the time to market is very low.
Contras
Being a startup with a focus on delivering features and improvements to the product, sometimes pure technical foundational suggestions that were considered unanimity among developers couldn't be prioritized due to the lack of capacity. This lead to some frustration as well as a degradation on the developer experience. This was recognized by the owners and it was expected to be addressed after the latest funding round.
Also for some reason I've received a 7 years old laptop to work with serious performance issues, leading to a much worse experience compared to colleagues that were mostly with brand new equipment. Not sure what was the reasoning behind this decision but it definitely negatively impacted my workflow.
