A relatively informal atmosphere, and they are generally supportive of hybrid working arrangements.

Contras

From the POV of someone in the technology part of the company: If you are the sort that likes to just be given some work to do, and enjoys sitting alone and just getting on with it, and it doesn't really matter to you what that work is... then this place might be a good fit for you. If however, you want to be part of a team that works and learns together, and cares about the craft... then I would avoid this place, because they don't care about that at all. I would especially avoid this place if you are early in your career, as they don't invest in the growth of their people. The technology area was also not diverse. Most of the women members had left, and the management team was almost entirely men. More broadly: The company seemed to be unable to secure interesting work, and was steadily relying more and more on government jobs, which were largely just the same thing over and again. There seemed to be a significant management and leadership deficit, with a lack of clear thinking, planning and communication. For remote or hybrid work, even though the company had a number of employees who were remote, there was always a strong office-first culture which tended to naturally exclude those working remotely or in a hybrid style.

Prós

Good memories of what it used to be. Can get interesting work sometimes, but maybe not so much these times.

Contras

There's a lot of shady business going on. People are being let go quickly, with leadership hiding the true reasons why. Long-time employees, some who've been with the company for decades, are either left or leaving. The sales team can't sell and doesn't even know what they're selling, so don't expect interesting work anytime soon. Salaries are on the lower end of the market. There's no trust in the leadership team among the coworkers, who are either new, prefer not to notice anything, or are just waiting for the right opportunity to leave ASAP.
