Contras
Cross team collaboration is terrible. People who are directors or project managers simply cannot understand the development lifecycle and the cost of decisions. As a result, project that should be done in weeks or months are squeezed into 1-2 weeks. This comes at a cost which has accumulated over the years and services cannot scale at all, there is zero documentation and very little knowledge transfer. You will have to understand yourself how everything works. Plus you have some people talking behind your back, digging your grave and pretend to be your allies. So as a manager you have: 1. Unrealistic implied deadline for no reason at all 2. Developers who are complaining constantly 3. People asking you 10 times a day (every day) when their super-urgent requests will be fulfilled. 4. Very little work life balance if you want to deliver a few things. There are exceptions though. 5. Managers that will demand for the hacky fastest workaround and the next day blame you that your team has not made a bulletproof and highly scalable and extendable solution.
