      - Submitted application on their LinkedIn job posting - 30 min phone call with recruiter - Hacker Rank OA with 2 coding challenges of medium and hard difficulty with 90 minutes time limit. First one is math related and second was a twist on Dijkstra's algorithm. Similar to what you find on Leetcode. The graph problem can be difficult if you haven't seen it before or are rusty with graph algorithms. A couple of days later I get passed by recruiter and scheduled for next interview. - 1 hour technical Interview with 2 senior engineers going over my resume and talking about past projects concisely. Then went over my Hacker Rank solution where I had to explain my thought process and how to optimize it or clean up the code. A couple of days later I get passed by recruiter and scheduled for next interview. - 45 minute system design interview with 2 senior engineers using Hacker Rank as whiteboard. Design a payment service provider. I was drilled with various questions on what HTTP APIs I would define, what is the request content, and authentication. I drew an architecture diagram showing integration with databases, queues, load balancers, 3rd party payment networks. The interviewers were not really collaborative. Next day I get rejected with feedback: not clarifying functional + non-functional requirements, gaps in APIs specifically to authorization, and didn't dive deep into load balancers or horizontal scaling, The recruiter was a great communicator and transparent. All the interviewers were respectful. They actually do give feedback on your interview which is rare.

      Initial step was a 30 min screening call with someone from HR. They were very friendly. First time I didn't pass a screening call in years, make sure to study the 8 company values on their website beforehand.

      Madrid: good technical process, but POOR communication and lack of closure after final interview Pros: * The recruitment process is technically good and well-structured in its early stages. * The initial assessment consisted of a HackerRank technical evaluation with a programming exercise focused on performance, object-oriented design, and three SQL questions, which felt relevant and fair. * This was followed by a technical interview discussing the assessment results and deeper system/design topics. * I also had a hiring manager interview and a technical leadership interview, both of which were professional and engaging. * Throughout most of the process, the recruiter was very responsive, usually replying within 48 hours. Cons: * After completing the final interview, communication abruptly stopped; * I attempted multiple follow-ups via email and phone without receiving any response. * Only after reaching out to one of the technical leaders I had interviewed with did the recruiter reply, stating she would call — but that call never happened, and communication stopped again. * The lack of closure after reaching the final stage felt unprofessional and inconsistent with Adyen’s publicly stated values around transparency, ownership, and respect.
