      Entrevista

I would definitely avoid interning for this company based on the red flags that I noticed with them. (1) The interview / selection process was shady. I thought it would be a good company to work for based on the reviews*, but I found that the interview process was very demanding for such a small company. Initially, I was screened through and they asked me to send them my resume which I did - very normal. Then I moved on to the second stage where all the red flags came to light, they asked me three questions (fairly normal ones), but on top of that, gave me 3 very demanding exercises to submit in a word document / pdf file with deadline. One of the exercises actually required me to write an ENTIRE blog post with a prompt - as ONE question out of 3! It really is almost as if they're using this as a cheap method of getting free labour and content. I'll write a blog post for you once I'm your intern, NOT during a screening process where I might not even get a job! Exercise questions are very normal, but this is a fairly small company - if you're a big name company with very well-established clients, I would definitely go for it. But they're not and so it just seems very cheap. Compared to other companies with better and more established names that I've applied and interviewed for, none of them requried me to do as much work despite having much better credibility. I think it definitely showcases how they would potentially treat their (entry-level) employees, as cheap labour and people to exploit. (2) The glassdoor reviews are also extremely sketchy and lack credibility! Which is why I put an asterisk in (1). I went back to check their glassdoor reviews, which are all strangely 5 stars. I read through each of them and although some have very clear and enunciated criticism on the company, they still gave a full 5 star rating nonetheless. It is also is if they required all existing or former employees to rate them 5 stars before they leave the company to get a job reference from them or something. This is a really shady way to attract new employees to work for them. No company is perfect, it is important to be realistic so I definitely do not trust these forced positive reviews.

Hi, I'm Nisarg, CEO of Affable. First off, apologies that your experience interviewing with us was not pleasant. We take this feedback on our interview process very seriously and have asked the hiring manager to consider this feedback. For clarification: 1. Although the exercise looks difficult, this is a way for us to filter out candidates who are creative and are willing to put in the effort. Of all the applicants we interviewed, we made 2 offers for the role based on the exercise. We do NOT use the blogs from exercise in our content in any way. As a startup, we are in this for the long term and such cheap tricks will not take us anywhere. Said that, we understand why you might have felt that way compared to exercises at larger companies and will work on the marketing exercises to make it more industry standard. 2. None of our reviews are forced. All the employees at the company have submitted authentic reviews based on their current/past experience working with us. At Affable, we are like a small tight-knit family and we take care of the family once they are part of it. Our core values include being open to feedback & criticism and we hold ourselves to a very high standard. If you are open to applying again, we would love to reconsider your application in a competitive manner. If you need to write to me directly, I'm at nisarg@affable.ai. Thanks and good luck! Nisarg
