Your application/resume can get swallowed into the recruitment bucket for a long time. Once contacted, I was scheduled for an interview promptly. After being interviewed, would prefer if they could let a candidate know they will not be pursued as early as this is identified - I was interviewed for two positions and both were filled by internal candidates. For one of the positions, and this could have been a mis-understanding on my part, I believed I was going to be scheduled for a second interview with a panel. When I followed up with the hiring manager, I was told they were offering the position to the internal candidate. I have interviewed many job candidates and believe in treating them in the same manner I would like to be treated - don’t lead them on in thinking they are still in the running if they aren’t.
