I was interviewed beginning of January 2022. First I received a message from an internal recruiter inviting me for the first interview with a person from HR and the hiring manager. When I joined the interview, the HR person informed me that the hiring manager was sick and she could not join, so I had a 30min meeting with the HR only. It was a nice discussion with standard questions for this phase. The HR person told me that she could arrange a second meeting with the hiring manager next week. After that, almost 2 weeks passed and I didn't receive any update. I emailed the recruiter and the HR person asking for an update, mo response. Then I sent another email asking for an update and this time I sent it to the recruiter, HR person and also the hiring manager. In the end I received a short response from the recruiter that I was not selected for the next phase. I asked for more detailed feedback about my application and I just received a very generic response that I presented myself very well, that the interview went well but I was not the perfect candidate for them. The funny thing is that I asked for detailed feedback and they responded with the most generic and nonsense response that they could use. My advice: Educate your recruiters, HR people etc. in order to provide detailed feedback promptly (and not waiting to receive a couple of reminders from the candidate), after having invited someone for an interview. Just responding that "your interview was good but you were not the perfect candidate for us", does not make any sense.
