If you know your objectives and have your own strategy you are OK. It doesn't matter chaos. You just need to identify who has the info, who know the procedures and get an agreement from them. Be clear that you are working as a part of a teamwork. If you don't have any internal info or support, do your own industry or market analysis. Be consistent. Touch base with your supervisor, made adjustment and keep working on strategy. Be focused.
