As a English person living in Germany, Avarto was always a company that i was interested in as I was aware that i was able to work in my native language (which I felt would possibly make advancement within the company more possible). No positions were advertised at the time. However I instead decided to send my CV to HR and express my interest in working with them. To my surprise, it worked! Approximately 2 weeks later, they got in contact and invited me to interview for an English customer service role they thought my past experience would suit. Due to Corona, I was interviewed over telephone. I was put on a conference call with 2 interviewers. Both interviewers were really friendly and I was interviewed in a style that made it feel more like a relaxed conversation than an interview, which instantly helped me relax into it. I was asked questions about my previous work history and what I enjoyed/disliked about my past positions, but this was the most 'interview like' question I was asked, the remainder of the call seemed to be them being genuinely interested in getting to know me as a person. The interview appeared to go well and I was told that I would receive a decision within a week. A week later and I had not heard back from them so assumed that I was unsuccessful. However, almost 2 weeks later I received a call (and an apology for the Corona related delay in them getting back to me) to offer me the job. Which I accepted. I started work the following week where I was placed on 2 weeks intensive training, followed by 2 weeks 'buddied up' with another member of staff to gain hands on experience in the job itself, followed by a further 2 weeks training. 🙄 Now I have settled in, the job is somewhat repetitive but the office atmosphere and the people more than make up for it. Although I can’t speak for every Avarto, The Gütersloh team are by far the friendliest/most helpful team I have ever worked with. I can highly recommend anyone interested in working with this company. For the first time in my working life, I actually enjoy going to work!
