Started with HR and was picked up by one interviewer. Met with several attorneys in the office to discuss the job, ask questions, and hear about the expectations. After meeting with various members of the department was advised they would be in contact soon to let me know of their decision. Called promptly, communication was clear and welcoming. Answered all my questions and generated an excitement for the role and it’s opportunities.

Closely questioned by 5 people for a total of an hour. Most of the time was focused on why I left my prior jobs. I was asked to detail every reason, and to fully account for time between jobs. At one point the lead interviewer said, "you say you have had this world class training, but it looks to me like you are a job hopper." I have worked at 5 firms total from 1994 to 2021, 27 years, so it amazed me to be deemed a job hopper; that was a first. Later, the same person apologized for his tone, saying "I didn't mean to take your deposition." I expected to spend more time on the details of the work, but I did not learn much about the position from this interview. After an hour, I was finally given a chance to ask questions, but I was so dejected and exhausted at that point that I passed. I did not get the job, and I was not surprised. They were so concerned with the precise reasons I left my prior jobs that it made me wonder why they interviewed me at all, and it made me concerned they may have a retention problem. The way I was treated in the interview left me cold. Although it would have been a great opportunity and I would have happily accepted prior to the interview, I was seriously considering turning down any offer anyway, so I am glad they spared me the angst of declining their offer.
