      Candidatura

Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 1 semana. Fui entrevistado pela Axel Springer (Berlim) em jan. de 2020

      Entrevista

      - Waited too long at front door to be allowed into the building. - When I arrived at the room we supposed to start the trial day, there was only one guy who was there as a shadow-interviewer, the main interviewer was late around 20 minutes. Anyway, I suggested to chat about how Axel Springer works. - He arrived and told me he was sorry without any reason. What a rude behaviour against someone who was there before minutes ago. - We decided to go into their own "development corner" which are a series of dark/unlit rooms in row. I was told how "modern architecture" they have in terms of engineering. Especially the main interviewer were so eager to tell me about the details of their architecture which made me feel a bit weird because he was also telling that we were running out of time for the trial day. What a funny contradiction! - They told me I would start writing an example app but they didn't find where the challenge specification was. So the main interviewer sent it to me over email which was a bit lame because we spent around 10 minutes to find out what their Wi-Fi password is. Yes, a media company in Berlin also challenges candidates in terms of patience, too. - When we got the password and the challenge question found somewhere from depths of the main interviewer's computer among their architecture schema drawings probably, I started coding it. But things were different than any other interviews because they were expecting me while they were asking me questions about everything they wanna know. Probably they were not aware that I was not a robot and multi-threading is not invented for humans, but micro-processors in general. Anyway, I continued coding and telling the whys of the decisions I've made in terms of coding. - Since what they expected from me was something I needed to work in a prepared environment, I had brought my computer to be in the safe place, thank god, I did it & probably I would need to wait for an order for a candidate computer I think. - While coding, from the room I was sitting with the other interviewers, one guy was told to go out of the room for a couple of hours in a very impolite way which also made that guy surprised. He was even not informed about the trial day. They were not even ready for an interview taking place and they're just behaving bad for their own employees. - The time was running, and I supposed to meet with the Head Section, but just right before 5 minutes, the end of the day, I was told that he/she would not able to attend the meeting and cancelled. Probably while they're asking questions, they were not only asking questions, also sending messages to others who I supposed to interview with and told them not to continue. The main interviewer told me that the time was up and they would take me to the exit. - At the very same day, I was called from their HR department and was told that they decided not to continue with me and asked me about my experience during the interview/trial day. I told exactly the same what I've written above and she apologized & was really keen on to find out the reasons why it happened that way. She offered me to ask to the team I had interview with if they might change their idea about the interview but I rejected because I told also that I was about to write them to not to continue with the process, too. - Such an AWFUL experience for a candidate and please & never go there for any reason if you want to look to the future with hope, NEVER! I cannot image how working there, so lucky that we didn't like each other.

      Pergunta 1

Q: Could you create an app which merged the given requests from different endpoints? And tell us how/why would you make a call with fetch to be developed from scratch as an app?
