The first interview with HR was positive.
The second interview was with the VP of Sales Enablement, and unfortunately it was a poor experience. His microphone wasn't working properly, and even after I mentioned several times that I couldn't hear him clearly, nothing was done to fix it. The interview was scheduled for 45 minutes but lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes. I initially thought the extra time was a positive sign, but near the end he claimed I wasn't providing enough detail, even though I had already given the details he asked for ( he was probably not listening)
The third interview was with the Director, who told me that she and the VP had a very positive impression of both my interviews and were looking forward to the next steps. Naturally, this gave me confidence. However, after two weeks of silence, I received a generic rejection email.
If you're not confident about moving a candidate forward, please don't give them false hope during the interview process.
