      I wasn't looking for a new role but someone in my network reached out to me and asked if they could refer me to a TA role based in DC with the CAVA team. I was intrigued because it sounded like there was a great opportunity to make an impact quite quickly, while working in a fast paced, scrappy, and culturally aligned company. I was set up with an initial conversation with the recruiter. We connected and had a very unstructured, albeit warm, 60-minute conversation. The recruiter explained she was going on vacation later that day and that she would set up the next set of conversations once she was back. After following up and hearing nothing, I reached back out to my referrer where I learned that CAVA had let that recruiter go. They were confused as to why no one had reached back out to me to inform me & to continue the conversation, but I knew that org changes could be quite disruptive so I wasn't upset and said not to worry, that I would reach out one more time. This time I decided to follow up with the recruiter's counterpart and the TA Leader directly but still received radio silence. Overall, it wasn't a great experience. Since having that initial conversation, I have learned more about the true culture that CAVA was creating, and it seems like it is moving in the opposite direction of the original founders. It explains why the tenure is only 2.1 years. I truly hope the company gets back to what made it such a successful brand and doesn't get in their own way.
