Began with a 90 minute screening interview, followed by a 3 hour technical assessment. The technical assessment covered topics from language modelling to mathematics for ML to coding fundamentals. All interviewers as well as the recruiter were extremely friendly.

Following an initial screening (where the interviewer was very kind and professional), I had a technical interview with the hiring manager for the model compression/efficiency team. The manager asked questions regarding current role, prior experience, and projects. This was a very negative interview experience for several reasons: 1. The hiring manager yawned (several times) throughout the course of the interview with no apology, and completely lacked basic inter personal skills. 2. Although this was for an ML engineer position, the hiring manager had no knowledge of ML whatsoever. 3. The manager had not done *any* review of the candidate resume and asked very illogical and irrelevant questions (e.g., "why does your company do XYZ when company ABC exists?" -- as opposed to focusing on the skills and experiences necessary for the role). Such questions would perhaps be appropriate if interviewing for a high leadership position e.g., CEO / Director. In general, as a candidate it is worth being prepared to be asked irrelevant questions (mitigate surprise). All members of the hiring team should be trained to exhibit some base level of professionalism. Although the initial screening was very cordial and professional, the same cannot be said for the next round.
