Facilitated by a staffing company, I participated in a massive all-day hiring event, where a variety of exercises were performed by ~50 candidates vying for ~20 jobs. Everyone was kept at the office for nearly 8 hours, performing a variety of group and 1:1 exercises and evaluations, some of which were clearly irrelevant and only designed to kill time while the managers made decisions. There were two hours of mind-numbing Q&A with current employees. At the end, most of the people who spent their entire day on this were told to go home in dramatic fashion.
