I had to reflect on my nursing school experiences and talk about one of them.

I had a pt. on a psych unit that was there for several weeks. At first he was very difficult to deal w/, grouchy, mean, etc... I kept being as patient w/ him and smiling every chance I saw him or had to work w/ him. Eventually, he started smiling back and the day he was d/c'd I printed a "going away" card w/ a puppy on it and said we would miss him. I had other employees sign it that were working that day. He got tears in his eyes when I took it to him (and I had tears in my eyes, too!) and he leaned over and kissed me on the forehead!! I will never forget him :-)
