My kind of work environment will be a little less quite workplace where I can watch people moving around, some taking their coffee breaks and I sit in my cubicle with my laptop, a note pad, and my fruit crunch supplies. As far as I am seeing people around me I welcome quick chats with surroundings and get back to work. Something like this is a perfect environment to me
