The Reggio Emilia Approach is all about focusing on the child’s natural curiosity and interests. It sees kids as capable learners who drive their own learning through exploration and inquiry. The classroom environment plays a big role too—it’s set up to inspire and support learning, almost like a “third teacher.” As a teacher in this approach, I’d act more as a guide, working alongside the children rather than just directing them. It also emphasizes collaboration, both among the children and with their families, and values documenting the learning process to reflect and plan. I’m really drawn to this approach because it aligns with my belief in child-centered, hands-on learning.
