I was contacted by what seemed to be the hiring manager about an open role, but I suspect he was actually a recruiter. Moved from that interview to being contacted the following week for screening interviews. The second step is a series of 3 screening interviews. These are typically scheduled in one sitting, back to back. Unfortunately, mine were strung out over a week end to end. I also endured three different reschedules. This was an initial negative sign. The interview process is very prescriptive, scripted, and feels unnatural. Imagine junior managers in the first series of interviews hey have ever conducted. The result is a clunky, non-conversation. Literally a line of 8 questions, with a couple of “uh-huh” in between. Be prepared for that in any role at DoorDash. EVERY interviewer was also late to the meeting. From 3 to 7 minutes. So with around 5 minutes of tardiness, 5 of dual intros, and 5 minutes for questions from you (which I only received time for in one), that’s less than 2 minutes for each of the 8 questions during a 30 minute interview. I guess hat didn’t work out for me. My rejection was a basic “not a fit for the role”, from an individual I didn’t interact with through the process other than respond to a link regarding scheduling. I was coordinated by a different individual. Also worth noting- read the entire careers page and every link included. There are some trap questions you can find the answers somewhere in there. I probably. Advice- tighten up the process so candidates aren’t strung between interviews for an entire week, just to get a generic rejection.
