      I'll start by saying my experience interviewing with the team was very positive; everyone I spoke with was very friendly and professional, and I really felt as though this was the perfect role for me. Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience after completing the 5th and final interview for the role. I received an email from the recruiter on Monday morning after finishing the final interview the Friday before. They reached out to ask what my compensation expectations were for the role. I thought that was odd, as this was not mentioned at all during the process, and the compensation range listed on the job posting when I applied was suitable (though I was aiming for the upper half of the range). When I mentioned this, I was sent a screenshot of the job posting with a range substantially lower than what I had applied for (the upper end of the range was $50k less than what I make currently). I went to check the job posting again but it had been taken down, and I had no record of this, so I wracked my brain thinking of how I could have made such a mistake. The recruiter assured me that the compensation listed was accurate for the role and that there was nothing else she could do. Fine, chalk it up to an error. Maybe it was me, maybe it was DoorDash. Mistakes happen. A couple weeks later I noticed another role posted for the same compensation range I saw the first time I applied. I reached out to said recruiter again and asked if she could confirm the compensation range was accurate. I didn't receive a response for 2 weeks, at which point I sent a follow-up email. A week after the follow-up, I heard back from the recruiter apologizing and letting me know the position was in the final stages of the interview process. There was no response to my direct question about compensation. Needless to say, this raised a ton of red flags for me. I'm not sure if I was a victim of a bait and switch, but unfortunately a role that I felt extremely qualified for was taken away because of a complete lack of transparency. I wasted 5 interviews (with some admittedly great people), along with the time and energy of the employees that I met with, and never received any closure regarding the error. The behavior from the recruiter leads me to believe this was no accident though. I would strongly advise anyone interviewing with DoorDash to confirm compensation early in the process (my amateurish mistake for not doing so) and document everything.

      Entrevista

      First a screening call with HR, then a take home analytical test, followed by two virtual panel interview rounds with 2-3 people each round. Some of the interviews were behavioral and some were analytical.

      Had a recent interview process that started off fine but ended up feeling like a waste of time. The initial phone screen with the recruiter was positive (straightforward, professional, and gave me a good sense of the role). But the hiring manager interview was… odd. They gave a quick rundown of the position, asked me one question (“tell me about your background”), and that was pretty much it. No real follow-up, no questions about my relevant experience, and no opportunity to actually talk about what I could bring to the role. It didn’t feel like a real interview - more like a box they had to check. So I wasn’t surprised to hear I wasn’t moving forward. Just disappointed that there wasn’t any meaningful conversation or engagement. Felt like a missed opportunity all around.
