A patient knew that they are a fainter, and very nervous about getting blood draw because they always pass out. I was confident on getting the blood, but didn't want the patient to pass out. So I talk and joke with the patient to distract the blood draw in a calmly soft but joking manner. And it worked without the patient passing out!
