      Entrevista

      First, I had an interview with their tech recruiter, which was pleasant. He was very attentive and nice in general. The problem came in the second round with the hiring manager (Director of Engineering) -- he started off by calling me an "aspiring product manager", despite the fact that I've been a PM for almost 2 years, as he knew from my resume. Then, he acted very arrogantly and kept trying to "debunk" every little concept I spoke about, often focusing heavily on semantics. Example: when speaking about CI/CD pipelines, he'd say "you should say CD, CI is already implied" -- but everyone in the industry refers to it as CI/CD. When talking about my experience with DevOps engineers, he'd say "DevOps engineer? DevOps is not a role, it's a mindset. It should not be a role.", and so on. As if his personal beliefs should rule over the reality of how organizations are structured over the world. I'm not sure if this is how he acts towards women in tech or just people in general. After the interview, I immediately called the recruiter and asked to withdraw my application. The recruiter listened to my feedback and said this pedantic behavior has been brought up before and he also had that impression at first, but that the hiring manager usually "warmed up" after a few interactions. Anyway, I would not recommend this experience to my worst enemy.
