30 minutes with recruiter, then a ~2 hour take home test. If you do well on the take home test, you speak for 30 mins with the Data Scientist the next week. There is currently only one Data Scientist and lots of applications. I received a rejection email this morning stating that I would receive no individual feedback. I am assuming they filled the role(s). I think they wanted a data engineer or a data analyst for this role; it felt like it was a negative for me to have python and machine learning experience. Upsell your ETL and analyst abilities.

Women in tech, Builtin says it best: “If your interview panel is entirely male, that is a ginormous red flag.” 3 hours, 4 male interviewers (2 not even in the tech department? you couldn't find one female employee who's not a recruiter?), and infinite moments of feeling disregarded before I opened my mouth. A highlight: after explaining the type of impact metrics we used for a SEO-based social good product launch, I was asked 3-4x how we could tell what the metrics were and how I knew we weren't just making them up. Would they have asked a man that? I don't know, and I never will. I do know now that a tech startup founded by three men who can't source one token women for a 4-person panel interviewing a woman is probably not the best.
