How do I react to persistent and frustrated customers? Do I take it personal?

I tend not to take customers frustrations personal - I level with the customer and make sure I understand exactly what their problem is. Its always best to hear them out and understand why they are so frustrated or upset. I try to put myself in their shoes and not take any offense to it.
