I was floored by this question. I couldn't give her a good answer. It was hard because she was on her phone but I tried to explain that I would take the company priorities and resources and work with my group to prioritize. I think anybody who has been a product manager knows that the roadmap generally follows the format and process that the company has defined. There's not a lot of creativity that goes into creating a roadmap. The creativity comes in when you are negotiating for resources and prioritizing. And when I attempted to talk about how I've used different technologies, like Aha, Google, Jira, etc, she didn't even know what I was talking about. If she doesn't know the answer she wants to hear, why did she ask the question?
