The multi server install may have multiple dispatchers and gateway and will proceed with single dispatcher/gateway over multiple servers. You may install dispatcher/application component on one server and gateway over to other, while doing configuration for the dispatcher enter details for your Content Manager and the gateway url into that, may have dispatcher url by default. Similar for gateway that have dispatcher url. Before configuring gateway dispatcher and content manager should be up and running.
