First, I use the tools provided by Microsoft: Spellcheck and Grammercheck; or other tools like Grammerly. Then, I read the document backwards, last sentence first. I learned this from one of my former bosses. It's very difficult to proof my own work, so anything I can do to disrupt my "auto-reading" of the document helps. Reading the document out of order is very helpful.
