Correct answer is 44 by 44 pixels (interviewer said it). I had understand what he meant by this question but i failed to answer this because since i was in my early career, i always designed elements on screen based on how big or small it looks on a frame/mockup, trying to find the right balance. Its not a mistake but more of a canon event that all early designer go through who don't have formal experience.
