How would I handle a potential explosive situation when there are conflict between two co-workers from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds.

The same as I would handle any other conflict situation. By being impartial, looking at the facts and not emotions involved and calm the situation by providing them with incite and knowledge into their specific problem or incident relating to conflict, in a impartial manner.
