I responded first, l'd stay calm and listen carefully to what the client is upset about, without interrupting. I'd show empathy and let them know I understand their frustration. Then l'd try to fix the issue as quickly and politely as possible, or get a manager involved if it's something I can't personally handle. The goal is to make sure they feel heard and leave with a better impression than when they walked in.
