How would you check if a string is a palindrome?

Have a pointer at the beginning of the word and a pointer at the end and compare those 2 and then move the pointer in front one forward and the one in back one backwards and keep comparing. If they are all the same then it is a palindrome. I also recommend Googling it for other helpful answers.
