How would you deal with an irate customer.

Usually, customers are irrate because they are frustrated and dont understand. I would listen to the customers frustration and then repeat what i heard the customer say was the problem to confirm. I would then let the customer know that i understand and will help the customer find resolution. This may be by educating the customer or by filing a complaint.etc.
