How would you handle a client who needs help with something you don't typically handle.

I said that I would find the person best suited to help them and make sure they were taken care of. This, I was told, was the wrong answer. I should try to handle it myself. I personally see little value in staff trying to help a customer or client with something they have no personal knowledge or expertise in when there is someone much more qualified around. Definitely not what I tell my staff to do.
