How would you handle a difficult or upset customer or a difficult situation?

I would speak slowly and clearly to the customer to assure understanding on both sides. I would address their concern, apologize for the confusion or misdirection and state what it is that we can do to fix it. I would also ask the customer if they are satisfied with my recommendation and ask if there is anything else that I could do to correct it.
