Explained we had an analytic server environment that was a clone from production data nightly that we could create tables/procedures in that could then be connected to Tableau - basically doing all the data prep in SQL. This confused her, says they don't have write access to make their own tables in the production environment(makes sense) but doesn't have good data in their sandboxes to manipulate data for downstream analysis. So kept asking how I'd get around this after I repeatedly explained this is a data engineering issue I never had to deal, either I've been pampered with great data warehouses or theirs is awful.
